What Is Scalability In Software?

Scalability is whether a system keeps working properly as a business grows — more products, more customers, more orders — or whether it starts to slow down, break, or become unmanageable under that growth. Software that works fine for ten customers doesn't automatically work fine for ten thousand; scalability is whether that growth was actually planned for.
